As someone who has performed many concerts as a singer at nursing homes, I appreciate the ability of music to completely transform people's state of mind for the better. I have also come to understand the importance of playing a musical instrument, as the ability to create music makes us happier through the ups and downs of life, boosts our self-esteem, expands our friendship circle, reduces anxiety and, for some people, can provide a full time or supplemental income.
Using the financial and analytical resources from the investment firm I started many years ago, I decided to establish MusicPower in order to offer both financial grants and advice to organizations and individuals with superior strategies for using music as a tool to solve societal problems and to simply make people's lives happier.

Service to my community has shaped my belief that positive long-lasting change begins at the local level. My educational background includes a double BA in International Relations and Political Science from the University of California San Diego and an MBA from University of San Diego.
My experiences through the Red Cross, the local church, US Peace Corps, and my volunteerism at Rady Children’s Hospital’s has solidified my perspective of how imperative it is to reach out and give back. I admire MusicPower’s vision to seek close partnerships with programs that are organically grown in response to societal needs.
